What is an Aroma Nebuliser?
An aroma nebuliser is a machine that uses cold air nebulising technology to break down the essential oils into micro droplets. When inhaled, these micro droplets are considered the optimum size for deep therapeutic action as they enter the bloodstream through the lungs. The micro droplets produced by the nebuliser stay suspended in the air for longer period of time, thus maximising the scenting effect and therapeutic action of the essential oil.
DO: DAILY MAINTENANCE OF AROMA NEBULISER
The aroma nebuliser can be used daily with proper and regular maintenance. To use the nebuliser, follow the steps below for a clear guide:
Step 1: Remove glass chamber from base. Tilt the glass chamber when pouring in only pure essential oil or compositions (without water or jojoba oil)
Step 2: Start the diffusion with 30 to 40 drops. To prevent damage to the nebuliser, do not exceed 1/2 of the misting pipe, found within the glass chamber.
Step 3: Remove funnel after pouring of oil. Always wipe the outer glass to prevent any oil residue from damaging the rubber tubing.
Step 4: Install to the base.
Step 5: Connect the provided adapter to the base and plus into electrical outlet.
Step 6: Turn the button to the right to vary the strength and speed of diffusion. To turn off your nebuliser, turn the button to the left until you hear a ‘click’ sound.
DO: USE NEBULISER WITH A COMPATIBLE ADAPTER
The nebuliser should be operated with its provided adapter and not to be used with other types of adapters. For example, if you have a mini travel nebuliser, it should be used with a USB adapter and not the AC electrical adapter as the power output for the travel nebuliser should be lesser than that of an aroma nebuliser.
Adapters are available for purchase in stores and online if you need a replacement.
DO: USE A GLASS TIP AND REFRAIN FROM PLACING YOUR NEBULISER NEAR PAPERS, PAINTINGS AND DELICATE FABRICS
The reason is simple. Because nebulisers emit microdroplets of essential oils in the form of a mist, the mist can get onto items that are placed near the nebuliser. Over time, this can cause white fabrics or papers to become stained. As a precaution, try to place the nebuliser away from any walls or corners. This also allows the nebuliser to diffuse freely within the area. With a glass tip, the mist is controlled and will less likely cause the surrounding areas to be oily or stained.
DON’T: USE THICK OILS THAT MAY CLOG THE NEBULISER
The aroma nebuliser is a delicate machine and it should not be used before fully understanding the manual. As a safety precaution, it is best recommended not to use thick essential oils with the nebuliser as they can clog the misting pipe.
Here is a list of essential oils that you should avoid:
- Fir Balsam
- Clary Sage
- Ylang Ylang
If you wish to use these oils with your nebuliser, you may blend these oils with runnier oils (e.g. Lavender or Eucalyptus) before using them in the nebuliser, and always clean them with Cleaning Solution immediately after this. This is to prevent any leftover oils from thickening further, causing a clog to the misting pipe.
If you suspect that your nebuliser is clogged, try this method:
1. Pour a generous amount of cleaning solution into the glass chamber and shake
2. Install the glass chamber into the base and let the nebuliser run at the lowest intensity for a few seconds
3. Remove the glass chamber and shake the Cleaning Solution inside the glass chamber (make sure you cover the opening of the glass chamber to prevent any solution from spilling out).
4. Continue until you see mist appearing and no residual oil is in the misting pipes.
